What diamond grit should I start with on a concrete floor?

For most concrete grinding and prep work, start with 16–30 grit metal bond diamonds to open the floor and remove coatings or adhesive. Then progress through 40–60 grit, transition to resin bonds at 100–200 grit for honing, and finish with 400–3000 grit resin pads for polishing. Your starting grit depends on floor hardness and what you're removing.

What tools remove epoxy coatings or glue from concrete?

PCD (polycrystalline diamond) scrapers and hard-bond diamond cup wheels are most effective for removing thick epoxy coatings and adhesive residue from concrete. For thinner coatings, soft-bond metal diamonds work well. We can spec the right tool for your coating type and thickness.

Ameripolish ColorSolve is a solvent carrier designed and recommended for use with Ameripolish Classic and SureLock concrete dyes. ColorSolve is extremely easy to use and leaves little to no residual dye on the surface. Use of ColorSolve extends the dye coverage rate, increasing it to up to 1,000 square feet per gallon! ColorSolve should be applied by using an appropriate solvent sprayer with or without a microfiber mop. Due to the lower evaporation rate of ColorSolve, using a Ameripolish microfiber mop reduces labor costs and saves time. Use of ColorSolve does not require taping and masking areas in preparation for the dye treatment. Another unique feature of ColorSolve is that it allows concrete dyes to be applied at higher grit levels such as at 800 and 1,500 grit for color enhancement or re- application and refurbishing.
